So here's the rest of the story. Total distance for the whole trip was 1,623 miles at an overall average speed of 11.7 mpg. Thats about 200 miles longer than the car trip to Florida, and traveling about 1/6th the speed at approximately 10 times the cost per mile. But hey, that's boating and a once in a lifetime experience.
The boat performed extremely well all the way with just a couple of minor problems, most of which, even I could fix, so you know they were very minor.
Next year it will be close to home, Forks of Long Island, the Vineyard, and perhaps the near coast of Ct, beyond that... not any time soon.
