Off to tour Montreal.
Old Port at Night
Globe from World's Fair 1976
Clock Tower along the St Lawrence, Montreal
Notre Dame Cathedral, Montreal
Four hours later: Al Gore is right. I hate to admit it but there is a hole in the ozone layer just over Montreal. We stop for a light lunch (one appetizer, two beverages) which takes close to an hour. It is unbelievably hot out. We head off to see the Notre Dame cathedral only to learn that we cannot enter. There are six weddings that will take place this afternoon. Come back tomorrow. No can do since tomorrow we are heading off to Sorrel and then to the Richilieu River and Chambly canal.
Having struck out at the basilica, we head off to the museum of science which has iMax
showings just about to begin. "un problem". There are no showings in English until 6:00 pm.
Back to Blue Belle" where the A/C Is cranking. After walking close to 6 miles today in search
of a cure for the laptop (what other person would do this????) the captain is beat!
After it cools down a little we walk to a very nice restaurant, "Modavie" for an excellent meal. It is Saturday night and the streets are packed with people and entertainment in the Old Port Square and in the adjoining parks.
The journey south starts tomorrow with a forecast for scattered showers.
